Questions about this 3D model

What causes day and night?

Earth rotates on its axis. The side facing the Sun is lit and experiences daytime. The opposite side is dark and experiences night. Rotation makes these two conditions alternate.

Why can it be night in one country and day in another?

Places at different longitudes do not face the Sun in the same way at the same moment. Some are on Earth’s illuminated side, while others are on its dark side.
